Vetting a Sponsor
« on: July 16, 2012, 05:42:27 AM »
Hey everyone!

I hope that all your sites are doing awesome. I also want to say thanks to all of you. I don't post on here all the time, but the info is awesome.

Okay, back to the topic. I was approached by a company that asked to be a sponsor. I don't want my name/site associated with a company that I would not recommend.

So how do you guys vet a sponsor? I seem to remember Jack saying he as a council that helps him vet for TSP. I am thinking about placing a small order to see how the process goes. The company sells tools, and I am always needing some tools for work.

Just wondering y'alls thoughts.

I've been playing with the thought of this as well and so far all i can think is coming up with your own list of questions and thing you would expect out of a company that your name will be associated with and just go ahead and ask them.  You could put it into a questionare form and send it over to them possibly.

Well, I spent some time digging around the site that offered the sponsorship. Everything seems to check out great. I have my fingers crossed that it works out.

I will update everyone with how it goes.

Did you end up ordering something from them? I remember Jack saying that he told his sponsors that they HAD to take care of the audience.

I have not yet. My plan is to have them pick a product and send my 2, one to review, and one to give away. In exchange for one or two months of sponsorship.

It will be a great(or bad) opportunity for them to show their product. If that goes well we can talk $

We will see.
