My brand
« on: December 21, 2011, 02:14:11 PM »
My site was originally used as a video game repair / info site for my store front. Well, I sold my store front and a year later I'm starting to blog, write guides & videos; for not only new video games but for retro ones as well. The name and logo I have, represent the brand I was portraying at the time. Now that I'm going in a different direction I really think i need to ether rename the site OR re-brand it completely. At this moment I'm going over with my wife (her profession is public relation) my target audience, demographics and such.

We have a some great minds here... so I would like your opinion.

-What do you think of when you hear the name Video Game Rescue?

I think of something like rescuing old video games out of the trash... or one of those firefighter games for kids.  Your logo also reinforces the firefighter theme.

As far as an idea for a product, you could write a definitive guide for repairing games and consoles.  I liked the idea of the video on the N64 controller, but there was no information (that I could see) on where to get the replacement joystick since in my experience it literally wears out physically.

Repairing NES systems would be valuable too, since they break like crazy.

Just my thoughts.

Personally I would get away from the fireman and maybe go with something that says repair.  Maybe like a wrench/screwdriver and a very recognizable video game symbol like a joystick or something.

I might give you a different point of view. I am 51 and although I have an x-box (not 360) I only use a few games and only once or twice a month. When we decided to get Netflix I could have used a site like that. Do I upgrade my gaming system? What is the least expensive way to put netflix on my TV? Turns out there is a Sony streaming box and a hand full of blueray players that will handle the task. I had to dig for that info.

Most of us have no clue what the gaming devices can do for us. I like that brand. Wish I could've found it last month. It would have saved me some time dealing with dumbass clerks at Walmart and BestBuy.

Good Luck,
Jesusfreak trucker

I don't play video games but I thought you:

1) repaired video games
2) or were into retro games and stocked them for folks to buy

When I saw the red cross sort of logo, I thought repair and restore.
