Rejected Advertiser
« on: June 19, 2012, 02:23:49 PM »
Yesterday I had to reject an advertiser for the first time. I only have two and rejecting the third was hard to do. He got very upset that I would not sell him ad space on any of my sites. His company conducted what I would consider shady practices. And was basically lieing about the product they sold. He even openly admitted that they do not approve negative comments on their products.

And somehow I still feel bad about having to reject him. Maybe it was the fact that I turned down $500. I'm not sure what it is.

But anyways listen to Jack if you would not personally recommend an advertisers company or product don't allow them to advertise with your blog.

I agree that you did the right thing. Yeah, you lost $500, but down the road, losing your readers' trust could end up being much more expensive than that, and trying to regain someone's trust is much harder than making $500.
