Feedburner, Aweber, MailChimp

Great list building tools.

When building a list I see the benefit of using Aweber or Mailchimp to send your new posts vs a newsletter.  I never got the idea of a newsletter when you have a blog anyway, blog is your newsletter.  And subscriptions your list.

With either autoresponder vs feedburner you can send out a nice welcome letter, letting them feel welcome, ask what solutions they'd like to see, etc.  Don't think there is a way to do this with feedburner.

Thus the question, do you even need feedburner if you are using an autoresponder for your subscriptions?  Wouldn't it be redundant or am I missing something? Or use feedburner link on your rss button for those who prefer to subscribe that way (for tracking purposes)?

Personally I use mailchimp for all my emails.

I have it setup as RSS campaigns so it send newsletters out every week a which is a summary of my new blog posts

I have a tip with any of these services
THey default to fancy image and graphic emails. I always turn them off I think it is more personal that way and there is evidence to suggest that you get better conversions that way
