Advertising on/in forums
« on: February 09, 2012, 01:23:24 PM »
Hey everyone,
I just got an email with pricing to advertise in a forum. The forum is directly related to the topics I talk about. I am a VW mechanic, and the forum is Passatworld.com.

Has anyone used this type of ad before?  They "say" they get between 1 & 2.5 millions views a month.  Here is th pricing structure. They also require a 3 month commitment paied up front.
The vendor pricing looks like this:
Vendor Member- $150 per month (commercial posting privileges, vendor title/tag, company web site link, no banners)
Supporting Vendor- $200 per month (all of the above features PLUS a dedicated forum of your own and a 128 x 28 banner)
Premium Vendor- $250 per month (all of the above features PLUS a large 468 x 60 banner in rotation at the top of all pages on the site for maximum visibility and click-through traffic)

Wondering what you guys think.  It seems steep to me

I have with my niche and I got a lot of impressions but crappy click throughs. And when I did get click throughs the bounce rate was high. Then again I didn't spend that much on the ad. Have you looked at buysellads.com?
