Hi from Mark in Colorado!
« on: August 25, 2012, 12:19:54 AM »
Hello Everyone,

This is Mark here in Colorado Springs... I started listening to FMWJ a few months ago and was leaning toward starting my own business before then, but really had my fire lit listening to Jack speak about employment not being a natural state in episode 94... totally put words to what I was feeling. Since then I left my job as an accountant due to some circumstances that led me to believe that it was time to take the plunge and take responsibility and ownership for my life, my income, and my family's future. So I started my own accounting business and business management and accounting blog - the blog was due to the perspective I gained through FMWJ, which totally syncs with everything I am doing on the accounting side. I am currently preparing for the CPA exams and getting this business off the ground and am looking forward to jumping into this community with like-minded people looking to build into their own future. I look forward to walking with everyone on this road!

Thanks!

Mark

Welcome Mark!  and you've jumped right in, participating, giving helpful advice.  Some I believe decide not to start a business because too much work, especially the paperwork, accounting side.  Others just do it.  But choosing a great accountant when you don't know anything is also a challenge.  My sister-in-law went through several, each doing things differently and saying the previous one did it wrong and messed things up.   I took HR Block's courses to simply learn more about doing my own taxes, and worked for them a few years.

Glad you are here.
